Our Story

Let's take you on a journey of how we plan to turn used coffee grounds into plant power. Join us in this important quest to save our environment, one community at a time.

The founder of Coffee Grounds 4 Growth, Fox Quattrone of Tarrytown NY is a senior in high school who is on a mission to help the environment using coffee grounds. He had worked in Cape Cod Massachusetts as a Barista, making hundreds of coffee drinks daily, which inspired him to create this project. Noticing that coffee grounds get thrown out at cafes every day, Fox wanted to put a stop to this waste in a way that would make a large impact on his communities both in New York and Cape Cod. He began researching the benefits of coffee grounds for plant and soil health, learning that they are nitrogen-rich and very helpful when used in fertilizers and compost. Using this information, he felt that it was vital to take action and pioneer an initiative that solves two problems, nurturing local soils and agriculture and stopping the waste of coffee grounds that would otherwise be thrown out. He aims to build relationships between local cafes and farms to make a lasting impact. Fox will continue his work in sustainability on the collegiate level at Wake Forest University over the next four years.
